The president of the bishops in Washington Cardinal Theodore McCarrick visited the Vice President of the Lebanese Government Mr. Issam Fares. During this meeting there was an exchange of points of views, thoughts and visions concerning the situation in Lebanon and the region. In this occasion, Mr. Fares asserted to his visitor of the love that the Lebanese carried to the Pope John Paul II.
He also expressed his gratitude for the love and support he brings for Lebanon: as well as for his noble positions towards what is right, fair, just and equitable. We also appreciate the fact that he insists on maintaining Lebanon a land of dialogue and interaction between religions, beliefs and civilizations.

After the meeting the Vice President of the Lebanese Government Mr. Issam Fares organized a reception in the honor of Cardinal Theodore McCarrick were present: the Italian ambassador Franco Mistrita, the Check ambassador Mark Scolil, the Polish ambassador Vladimir Markivitz, the Greek ambassador Nicolas Fanfunakis, Sir Gregory Marquiz, politic adviser at the American embassy of Beirut as well as religious, diplomats and politicians.
