The Deputy Prime Minister Issam Fares said that the mind behind the assassination, and the executor or executors aimed at killing one of the most prominent figures of Lebanon in the modern era, a man who gave Lebanon his utmost in the service of his country whether on the national, humanitarian, educational or cultural domains. The assassination plot also aimed at disrupting the unity of the country, and spreading chaos and instability.

No matter how much we condemn this horrible act, words will not suffice to express the extent of our sorrow and grief facing this terrible deed.
