The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Issam Fares visited the residence of the late Mr. Rafik Hariri to present his condolences. The Deputy Prime Minister was overwhelmed by grief over the assassination of Mr. Hariri, and considered him a cornerstone in the politics of Lebanon.

The Deputy Prime Minister then met privately with Saddine and Ayman Hariri, both sons of the late Mr. Hariri along with the former minister of Finance, Mr. Fouad Seniora. Mr. Fares recalled some of his meetings with Mr. Hariri, pointing out that he decided to enter politics following the encouragement of Mr. Hariri for him to do so.
