The Issam Fares Center for Lebanon published a book entitled “The 2009 Platform for Dialogue: the Year of Crisis and Change”. This book is the second book published by the Center within the framework of a book series entitled: “Platform for Dialogue”. The first book published was entitled: “The 2008 Platform for Dialogue: Internal Crisis and External Interventions”.

The book covers 24 seminars and roundtables concerned with internal, regional and international issues that have repercussions on Lebanon and the Middle East and that fall within the framework of the following three themes: “Lebanon in International and Regional Politics”, “The Lebanese Political System” and “Tours in the History of Lebanon: Testimonials and Book Reviews”.

By adopting this division and classification, the Center aims at turning the book series entitled “Platform for Dialogue” into a reference documentation that would be characterized by methodology and clarity and that would diverge from the traditional time division so as to shed light on the most prominent issues raised in Lebanon in a simplified manner, allowing the reader delve into its content and benefit from the ideas it provides.
