“Completing the Circle: Peacebuilding as Colonial Practice in the Occupied Palestinian Territory”

Mandy Turner is a social scientist who works on the political economy of peace-building and development in war-torn societies with a country focus on the occupied Palestinian territory, but also comparatively with other conflicts. She is seconded to the Kenyon Institute (Council for British Research in the Levant) from the Department of Peace Studies, University of Bradford, where she was a lecturer in conflict resolution. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics. 

Prior to joining Peace Studies in 2004, Turner was a journalist with The Guardian newspaper. She has conducted policy-based research for the UN and the governments of the UK, Finland, and Sweden. Her work has been published in the journals Conflict, Security and Development, International Peacekeeping, Democratization, and the Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding. Her forthcoming book is titled, The Palestinian People and the Political Economy of De-development, (co-edited with O. Shweiki), Routledge, 2013.
